Glue Pen Holder

Hello Blogland.

Well that's Christmas 2016 over with, am now getting ready to see the new year in. Hope you all have had a yummy Christmas and was spoiled rotten.

I was very lucky to have been given a cordless rechargeable Glue Pen for Christmas and am in love with it already, can see it being my new go to tool, so I needed something to house it to keep it to hand but safe and secure.

Here is my solution
Recipe
5" open topped box from Fernli
Bronze Filigree pieces from XCS
Black Gesso
Gilding Polish

As you can see it's a perfect fit!

Hi Blogland.

This is just a quick post sharing some journal pages, well just because I can lol.

I used my Dylusions paints for these backgrounds and various Tim Holtz stencils.
The butterflies were images I printed out.

Second GDT Project for XCS

Hello Blogland,

Time for me to share my second GDT Project for XCS

This time I altered a Fernli Tall Bird house.
The roof comes off so that it can be filled with treasures - Like Choccies.
I used my fave background technique - crumpled tissue paper - and covered the whole thing. gave it a coat of black gesso before using various colours of Gilding Polish.
For the feature on the front I used a chipboard heart, I filled the hollow with some pebeo fantasy paint but didn't like the way it turned out so covered it up with more gilding polish.
Once that was dry I then glued the Bronze Filigree heart flourish to the front and added extra bling.
For the charm dangle I used a selection of beads and bronze findings and added Tag Charm to the bottom.
To attach to the room I punched a small hole in the corner and used a jump ring to attach.

And there you have it.
I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of the GDT this month and hope to do so again in the future.

First GDT Project for XCS - Altered Book

Hello Blogland.

Today is a very exciting day cos I finally get to share my first GDT project made for Xanderous Crafty Stash.

The lovely Naomi posted for a GDT Call, I applied and was invited to be a GDT for December.
Of course I jumped at the chance and was sent some lovely bits and pieces to play with.

Here is my first project.
Front

Back

This is where I usually have my Recipe List, instead here are the step by step photos of how this came together.

Firstly I took the front and back covers off the A4 Sketch book (these are hard covers) and started adding texture.
For this I used molding paste, stencils, dry wall tape and some lace.
I then coated the whole thing (once dried) with Black Gesso.
This part is just using the front cover, I drew round the image I intended to use and added various sized cogs from Fernli Designs (these were coated in black gesso before being glued down).

Then came the fun bit - adding colour!!
For this I used Lindy's and Radiant Rain Mica Sprays and Perfect Pearls.
Then I simply added the image - which I coloured using Peacock Feathers Distress Ink - And all the Elements from XCS - these were gone over with Perfect Pearls to blend in slightly.
Once finished I simply reattached the covers to the book.

Here are the links to each element.

I cannot praise XCS enough, it's a fairly new business and is growing slowly but surely.
With more and more new things being added and great value for money you should really go check them out!!

If you enjoyed reading about this project please be kind and leave some love below in the comments.
